Former Florida Marlins player and now Miami Marlins executive Jeff Conine sold his Weston mansion for $3.75 million.
Conine, a two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion with the Marlins, is often called “Mr. Marlin” for his long affiliation with the team. He was even a broadcaster for Marlins games.
Conine and wife Cynthia Conine recently sold the 8,303-square-foot home at 3166 Inverness to Matthew Herman and Regina Herman. The Sklar Team of Coldwell Banker Realty represented the sellers in the deal, while Keon Rouse of Keyes Co. worked with the buyer.
The price equated to $452 per square foot.
The home last traded for $950,000 in 1995, so it had a big gain in value. It was built on the 25,706-square-foot lot along a golf course in 1994.
It features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, a wine room, a game room, a yoga room, a theater room, a gym, a sauna, a pool, a basketball court, and a 500-gallon saltwater tank with an artificial reef.
Conine played in MLB for 17 years. After playing at UCLA, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 58th round in 1987 and made his major league debut in 1990. The Florida Marlins selected Conine in the expansion draft in 1992, so he joined the inaugural team. He won the World Series with the Marlins in 1997, but he was traded back to Kansas City following the season. He joined the Baltimore Orioles in 1999, but then returned to the Marlins in 2003 – helping the team win the World Series. Conine played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets before retiring in 2007.
He's been a front office executive for the Marlins since 2022.
